Gresham’s Chief Wealth Strategist, Kim Kamin, Presented “A Potpourri of Wealth Transfer Planning Considerations for Modern Families” for the 61st Annual Hawaii Tax Institute

Kim Kamin, Chief Wealth Strategist at Gresham Partners, LLC, presented “A Potpourri of Wealth Transfer Planning Considerations for Modern Families” for the 61st Annual Hawaii Tax Institute. She was accompanied by co-presenter Stephen J. Miyabe. This presentation was based on the new edition of Ms. Kamin’s Leimberg treatise, The Tools and Techniques of Estate Planning for Modern Families (2024). The program addressed that as the traditional nuclear family has changed, wealth transfer planning professionals must be prepared to both identify concerns and thoughtfully problem-solve for issues clients face. This session took a fascinating look into a variety of issues to consider, including: Marital Status (single, divorced, unmarried couples and polyamorous relationships); Defining Descendants (stepchildren, adoption, nonmarital children and assisted reproductive technologies); other forms of Diversity (disability, LGBTQIA+, religious, racial and cultural inclusion), Drafting for Flexibility, . . and more!
